Okay, so I got this project, right? I wanted to remake the Yves Saint Laurent YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. It’s a real classic, you know? So I started by looking at a bunch of pictures of the real deal online, just trying to get a good feel for it.
Then I went to the place, I buy a lot of good leather, they got some good stock. Found some cream-colored stuff that looked pretty close to the original. I bought a good amount, figured better to have extra than not enough.
Next, I got down to figuring out the size. I measured the real bag as carefully as I could, trying to get all the dimensions just right. Made a little template on some cardboard, just to be sure everything would fit together how it’s supposed to. Then I cut the leather using that template. Let me tell you, cutting leather is no joke! You gotta be real precise.
After that, it was time to start sewing. I used a heavy-duty needle and some strong thread, ’cause this bag is meant to last. Sewed it all together, piece by piece, following the lines of the original design. I tried to match that YSL stitching as close as possible. It took some time, but I think I did alright.
Then came the hardware. I wanted that YSL logo and the clasp to look legit. Found some similar looking pieces, They weren’t perfect, but they did the job. Attached those, making sure they were nice and secure.
Finally, I added the strap. This part was pretty straightforward, just sewing it onto the sides of the bag. Made sure it was adjustable, like the real one.
- Get the materials: Cream-colored leather, heavy-duty needle, strong thread, metal logo, and clasp.
- Measure and cut: Take measurements from the real deal, make a template, and carefully cut the leather.
- Sew it up: Stitch the leather pieces together, following the design of the original bag.
- Add the hardware: Attach the metal logo and clasp.
- Attach the strap: Sew the strap onto the sides of the bag, making it adjustable.
So there you have it. That’s how I made my own version of the YSL LE CARRé SATCHEL BAG. It was a fun little project. Took some effort, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not exactly like the original, but it’s got that same vibe, you know? And hey, it’s unique, ’cause I made it myself!
