Okay, so, I decided to make one of those fancy Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAGs. Yeah, that’s the one, the super famous brand, you know?
First off, I went and looked everywhere for info about this bag. Found out it’s a pretty big deal, a “classic,” they call it. This one I’m doing is a “remake,” like they made it before and now they’re making it again. It is said that this bag is from that really old, like, 1961 or something, luxury fashion brand, so it’s got that history.
I gathered up all my stuff. Now, YSL uses some really good stuff to make their bags like real leather, but I’m not spending all that much, so I got some fake leather that looks pretty good. It is not bad. They use some other materials, and I tried to match them up the best I could. I needed that special YSL logo, too, so I worked on that for a while. They say that logo ain’t going nowhere, it’s staying on the bags.
Then, I started putting it all together. I measured everything out, cut the pieces, and started sewing. There were times when I messed up and had to start over, but, hey, that’s how it goes, right? It is a real pain when you mess up the measurements, let me tell ya. This bag is kind of round, “bulbous” I saw someone say once. I think that just means it’s not all flat and square, it’s got some curves.
- Getting the Shape Right: This was a real head-scratcher. I mean, it’s not just a box, it’s a special kind of box. So, I spent a lot of time getting those curves just right. Cut, sew, rip, repeat. But hey, I finally nailed it!
- That Shiny Logo: You can’t have a YSL bag without that shiny logo, right? I found a way to make it look pretty close to the real thing. Took some experimenting, but I think it turned out okay.
- Putting it All Together: Once I had all the pieces, it was time to put them together. This part was actually kind of fun. Seeing it all come together, you know? Like, I made that!
It took a while, I’m not gonna lie. But, finally, I had my own YSL JUNE BOX BAG. It’s not perfect, of course, but I made it myself, and that’s something. I tried to make it look as close to the real thing as I could. Those YSL bags are expensive cause they use really good stuff, like silk and metal, and they’re made really well. But I think mine turned out pretty good, especially since it’s a “dupe.” That’s what they call them, right? A bag that looks like the fancy one but doesn’t cost so much. If you want a YSL June Box Bag but don’t want to spend a lot of money, this is the way to go.
