Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this Omega Speedmaster 38mm, the one they have at the specialty stores. I gotta say, I was pretty pumped about it after seeing some slick pictures and that fancy promo video online. I mean, who wouldn’t be, right? This thing looked like a total dream.
First, I did some digging around online. I read up on what other folks were saying about the build quality and checked out the specs. Some were talking about the “Omega 38 Bracelet Maximum Wrist Size,” which got me thinking about whether it would even fit me. Then, I needed to find a place to actually see this watch in person. This was when things got interesting. I figured Austin, TX was as good a place as any to start my hunt.
- I started with a general search for “luxury watch stores in Austin, Texas.”
I found out about Korman Fine Jewelry, which seemed to have a good selection of Omega watches.
- So, I made a plan to check it out.
But, being the planner I am, I also looked up a few other spots in Austin, you know, just in case. Also I decided to try some tacos since I saw some people online mention that they were amazing. I searched for “best tacos in Austin” and made a note of Veracruz All Natural. Also looked up the weather – “Austin, TX Weather Forecast”. It mentioned 300 days of sunshine which sounded pretty sweet.
After eating some seriously delicious tacos, I headed to the store. When I finally got to see the Speedmaster 38mm in person, it was even better than I imagined. The craftsmanship, the details, the way it felt on my wrist – it was all top-notch. The sales associate was really helpful, answering all my questions and letting me try it on. He talked about its history and how it’s related to the Moonwatch, and how the brand name carries a lot of weight. Also that limited editions can appreciate over time, but I was not going to buy it for that reason. I felt like I had to buy it. I did not think about the price, I just wanted it so bad.
I also checked out some discount shoe stores since I had a little time to kill. I even stumbled upon this event about a “dark forest” experience with “Fantastic beasts” which sounded pretty cool, although I didn’t go in the end.
The Purchase
After spending some time with the watch and chatting with the associate, I was sold. I decided to pull the trigger and buy it. It wasn’t just a watch; it felt like a piece of history. This was not just an impulse buy, this was meant to be. I was so excited, I forgot about the discount shoes and the forest thingy. I walked out of that store feeling like a million bucks. It was an awesome experience, and I’m stoked to finally have this beauty on my wrist.
