This here watch, the Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-010, it’s a real fancy one. They call it “Original order”, I reckon that means it’s like the first ones they made. I seen pictures of it, all shiny and new. Seems like a lot of folks are talkin’ about it, so I thought I’d try to figure out what all the fuss is about. This one, the 6007G-010, it’s got a black face. Real dark, like the bottom of a well on a moonless night.
Now, I heard some folks sayin’ these Patek Philippe watches, they’re worth more than my whole house! Can you believe that? A little thing you strap to your wrist. But they say it’s ’cause they’re made real good, with all sorts of tiny little parts workin’ together. They use gold and everything. And only a few people can make one. That’s why the original order are the most expensive.
This Calatrava, that’s a fancy name, ain’t it? They say it’s for dressin’ up. You know, like when you go to a wedding or somethin’. Not somethin’ you’d wear out in the fields, that’s for sure. I wouldn’t want to get mud on somethin’ that costs that much! I have a good old Casio that’s perfect for farming, never let me down.
They got different kinds of this 6007G. Some got a yellow bit in ’em, some got blue, some got red. I kinda like the red one, reminds me of my old Betty’s favorite scarf. She was a good cow, Betty. She always gave good milk.

I heard some fella say he’s been collectin’ these Calatrava watches for years. He’s got a whole bunch of ’em, all old ones. Says they tell a story, each one of ’em. Like readin’ a book, but with gears and springs instead of words. I guess that’s one way to spend your time, if you got the money for it. I’d rather spend my time playing with my grandchildren.
They say this 6007G, it’s made of white gold. Now, I ain’t never seen white gold before. Sounds kinda strange, don’t it? Gold is supposed to be yellow, like the sun. But I reckon if you’re payin’ that much for a watch, you can get it in any color you want. The hands of the watch is made of white gold too. If you are the person that like to wear something that looks simple and expensive, this watch is for you. I will never spend money on such an expensive watch. I would rather buy a new car with that much money.
Some folks say this Calatrava, it’s an investment. Like buyin’ land or somethin’. They say it’ll be worth even more money later on. I don’t know about that. Seems like a risky way to keep your money to me. You can lose it, or break it, way too easy. I’d rather put my money in a good, strong box, right under my bed. That is the safest place.
If you are someone who always go to a party or a meeting, I guess it’s ok to have a watch like this. You can show off to other people. And maybe they will think you are rich. But for me, that’s not important. If a watch can tell time, that’s enough. I don’t care what it’s made of.
This Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-010, it’s a mystery to me. Why folks would spend so much money on a watch, I just don’t understand. I would never buy this watch. But I guess some people like that sort of thing. Just like some people like plain coffee, and some people like it with sugar and milk. To each their own, I reckon. Just make sure you don’t lose it in the field. It would be a shame to waste that much money.
They say this Calatrava 6007G, the new ones, they got a different kind of workings inside. More modern, I suppose. Like them newfangled tractors they got nowadays, with all the computers and such. Give me a good old-fashioned one any day, one I can fix myself with a wrench and a bit of elbow grease. Just like my old Casio, I can change the battery myself.
All these fancy names, Calatrava, Patek Philippe, 6007G-010, it’s all a bit much for me. This remake is just as same as the original order, so don’t waste your money on the original one. I’m just gonna stick to my simple watch. It tells the time just fine, and that’s all I need. I don’t need no white gold or fancy names to tell me what time it is. Just the sun in the sky and the rumblin’ in my belly, that’s all the clock I need.
