Alright, folks, gather ’round. Today, I’m gonna share my little adventure of remaking that fancy Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119R-001 watch. You know, the one they call a “remake” and “original order.” Sounds pretty highfalutin, right?
First off, I spent a good chunk of time, hours really, just digging around the internet. I was looking at pictures, reading forums, all about this 6119R-001. Got to know the ins and outs, or at least as much as you can from a screen.
Then came the fun part – gathering materials. Now, I wanted this thing to look the part, especially that rose gold case. So, I hunted down some materials that I thought looked pretty darn close to the original. Took some time, but I found some good stuff. I also decided on the dimensions, you know, 39mm across, 8.08mm thick, just like the real deal. And water-resistant to 30 meters? You bet. Plus, I made sure to get a sapphire crystal for the case back. Gotta see those insides, right?
Next up, I started putting this bad boy together. It wasn’t easy, I’ll tell ya. There are a lot of tiny parts in these things – 164 of ’em, they say! I took my time, made sure everything was in its right place. It was like a puzzle, a really, really small and complicated puzzle. But I persevered, and slowly but surely, it started to look like a watch.
