Aiya, you talkin’ about that Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the 45mm one? Let me tell you, it’s a real something. My grandson, he got one, always fiddlin’ with it. Shiny thing, tells you time and all that, plus a whole bunch of other stuff.
He says it tracks his steps. What for, I don’t know. We walk plenty every day, fetchin’ water, tendin’ the garden. Need a watch to tell you how much you walked? Seems silly to me. But the young ones, they like these things.
- Tells time, big and clear.
- Counts your steps, like I said.
- Watches your sleep too. If you slept good or not. Another thing I don’t get. You sleep, you sleep. If you tired, you know it. Don’t need a watch to tell ya.
This watch, it’s got GPS too. My grandson, he uses it when he goes hiking. Says it helps him not get lost. Back in my day, we just looked at the sun and the trees. Now they got machines to do it all. Maybe it’s better, maybe not.
It’s got a big face, easy to see. Good for old eyes like mine, even though I ain’t got one. My grandson shows me stuff on it, pictures and all. Small screen, but clear. He taps and swipes, and things change. Magic, I tell you.
He says it can check his heart rate too. Another thing I don’t understand. If your heart is beatin’, it’s beatin’. Why you need a watch to tell you how fast? But he says it’s important, helps him stay healthy. Maybe so. Young folks always worried about somethin’.
Battery lasts long, he says. Charges it at night, wears it all day. Waterproof too, he says. He swims with it, splashes around. Fancy thing, this watch. Does so much. Too much, if you ask me.
He got different straps for it too. Changes them like clothes. One day it’s black, next day it’s blue. He likes to match it with his outfits. Kids these days, always about fashion. Back in my day, one watch was good enough.
The watch, it connects to his phone too. Buzzes and beeps all the time. Messages, calls, who knows what. Always something. Makes him jumpy, I think. Always lookin’ at his wrist. Can’t sit still for a minute.
He shows me weather on it too. Sun, rain, clouds. Tells him if it’s gonna be hot or cold. Useful, I guess. But we look at the sky, we know. Feel the wind, we know. No need for a fancy watch. But he trusts it more than his own senses.
Expensive thing, this watch. Cost a lot, he says. All that money for something that tells time and more. We worked hard for our money, saved every penny. Now they spend it on gadgets and gizmos. Different times, I suppose.
But if he likes it, that’s all that matters. Makes him happy, keeps him busy. Maybe it’s a good thing, this watch. Keeps him out of trouble, maybe. Who knows. Just a shiny thing on his wrist, tellin’ him things he probably already knows.
