Well, ain’t this a fancy thing? Brown alligator watch strap, 20mm they say. Sounds like somethin’ for the rich folks, but let me tell ya what I think about it.
First off, alligator. That means it’s made from some big ol’ lizard, right? Guess they catch ’em in the swamp and turn ’em into watch straps. Imagine that! Don’t rightly know how they do it, but if they say it’s alligator, well, it must be.
- Brown is a good color, I reckon. Goes with most things. Not flashy, but not boring either.
- 20mm? Now that’s where I get confused. Is that how wide it is? Seems awful small, but I guess watches ain’t as big as they used to be. My old man had a pocket watch, big as a biscuit! This 20mm thing must be for them newfangled wristwatches.
So, what’s so special about this alligator strap, huh? They say it’s tough. Well, I suppose it should be, comin’ from a critter that lives in the swamp. Probably last a good long time, unlike them cheap plastic things that break after a while.
But I wonder, is it comfortable? Alligator skin sounds kinda rough. Don’t want somethin’ scratchin’ at your wrist all day, do ya? Maybe they soften it up somehow. Gotta be smooth, or nobody’d wear it, no matter how fancy it sounds.
Now, about that 20mm again. If it’s the width, like I said, you gotta make sure it fits your watch. Wouldn’t do to buy a strap and find out it’s too small or too big. Waste of good money, that would be. Measure your watch first, that’s what I’d say. Don’t just guess.
They probably charge a pretty penny for these alligator straps, too. “Genuine alligator,” they’ll say, like it’s gold or somethin’. Well, I suppose if you got the money to spare, go ahead and get yourself one. But for most folks, a regular ol’ leather strap will do just fine.
What’s the difference between alligator and crocodile, anyway? They’re both big lizards, ain’t they? Sounds like they’re tryin’ to confuse us with fancy words. Just tell me if it’s gonna last, that’s all I care about.
Cleaning it, they say, use a damp cloth. Well, that makes sense. Don’t wanna ruin a good strap with harsh cleaners. Just wipe it down and it’ll be good as new. Or as good as a used alligator strap can be, I guess.
If you’re gonna wear a brown strap, make sure it matches your watch, they say. Well, duh! You wouldn’t wear a brown belt with black shoes, would ya? Same thing with a watch strap. Gotta match it up, make it look presentable.
They also talk about “quick release” somethin’ or other. Guess that means you can change the strap easy. Not like the old days when you needed a special tool. That’s a good thing, I suppose. If you get tired of the brown alligator, you can switch it out for somethin’ else.
So, there you have it. My thoughts on this brown alligator watch strap, 20mm. Fancy, expensive, probably tough. If you got the money and want somethin’ different, go for it. But don’t forget, a regular strap works just fine too. Don’t get caught up in all that fancy talk. A watch tells time, that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
