Ya know, them fancy watches, the ones they call “Audemars Piguet” or somethin’, them ain’t cheap, no siree. Folks talk about payin’ for ’em monthly, like they do with a car or a fridge. In Singapore, they say the prices are somethin’ else. Lotsa talk on that “Reddit” thing, whatever that is.
People askin’ about prices, where to buy ’em. Heard tell they cost a whole lot, thousands of dollars! Can ya believe it? What kinda watch costs that much? My old clock on the wall tells time just fine, cost me maybe five bucks at the flea market.
- Fancy Names: These watches, they got all sorts of names. Royal Oak, Code 11.59, somethin’ about a Tourbillon. Sounds like a fancy tornado to me. Makes yer head spin just thinkin’ about it.
- Going Up: They say the prices keep goin’ up, like bread when the flour gets scarce. Every year, they add more money to the price. Soon enough, a fella will need to sell his house just to get one.
Now, in Switzerland, they say that’s where these watches come from. A land of mountains and fancy folks. They make ’em real good, with all them little gears and such. But lemme tell ya, a watch is a watch. It tells time. You don’t need a fancy one to know when to put the kettle on.
Folks get all excited about these things, sayin’ they’re “investments.” Like buryin’ gold in the backyard, I suppose. Maybe they go up in price, maybe they don’t. Seems like a gamble to me. I’d rather put my money in a good mattress, somethin’ you can sleep on.
These watches, they’re hard to get, too. Not like walkin’ into the store and grabbin’ a loaf of bread. You gotta know people, get on some list. Sounds like a lot of fuss for somethin’ that just tells time.
On that “Reddit,” folks talk about “ADs” in Singapore. Don’t know what that means, sounds like a fancy doctor or somethin’. Maybe they help you find these fancy watches. But why you’d need help spendin’ all that money is beyond me.
Some folks, they say a cheap “AP” watch costs thousands. Cheap? My idea of cheap is a cup of coffee at the diner. Thousands of dollars for somethin’ that goes on yer wrist? Crazy, I tell ya.
If you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one of these fancy watches, better save yer pennies. Or maybe win the lottery. ‘Cause you’ll need a whole lotta money. Me? I’ll stick with my old clock. It ticks just fine, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg.
So, them Audemars Piguet watches in Singapore…they’re for the rich folks. The ones with more money than sense, if you ask me. But hey, to each their own. If you wanna spend a small fortune on a watch, that’s yer business. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you can’t pay the bills.
