You know, that Watch Dogs 2 game, ain’t it a shame it don’t run smooth on that new PlayStation 5? They say it’s stuck at 30 frames per second, like a rusty ol’ tractor chuggin’ along. Them fancy Xbox folks, they get the smooth 60 frames. What’s up with that?
I heard tell it’s somethin’ about the resolution too, somethin’ called 900p. Don’t rightly know what that means, but sounds like it ain’t as good as it could be. My grandson, he says it’s kinda blurry. Now, they did somethin’ to make it a bit better on the PS5, bumped it up to 1800p they say, with some checkerboard trickery. But still stuck at 30 frames, like a mule pullin’ a heavy cart.
Why’s it gotta be so slow, I ask ya? This here Watch Dogs 2, folks say it’s a real hoot, better than the first one. All that hackin’ and story stuff, sounds excitin’! But playin’ it choppy like that, it’s like tryin’ to dance with a limp.
- It ain’t got no fancy “ray tracing” neither, whatever that is. My grandson says it makes the lights and shadows look real pretty.
- And no “HDR” support? Sounds like they skimped on the fixin’s.
They tell me the PS4 version runs at 1080p, another one of them fancy numbers. But still stuck at 30 frames, same as the PS5. You’d think they could make it run smoother on the new machine, wouldn’t ya?
I saw this fella playin’ it online, streamed it for two hours. Said the game was fine, then all of a sudden, it started gettin’ all jerky, frames droppin’ like flies. Ended up runnin’ like molasses in winter, 10 frames per second he said. Now that’s just plain bad.
It’s a real pity, this here game sounds like fun. But playin’ it all choppy like that, it takes the joy right out of it. Like eatin’ a good pie with a broken fork. You get the taste, but it ain’t the same.
Maybe they’ll fix it someday, make it run smooth like butter on a hot skillet. But until then, us PS5 folks gotta make do with the choppy ride. It’s like ridin’ a bumpy road in an old truck. You’ll get there eventually, but it ain’t gonna be a comfortable journey.
